HOW TO Sublimate A 20 OZ Skinny Tumbler With A Cricut Mug?

I’m excited to share my experience of sublimating a 20-ounce tumbler using the Cricut Mug Press.

As someone who has been using this product for a while, I can confidently say that the Cricut Mug Press is the best when sublimating skinny tumblers.

I never thought I would try it, but after giving it a shot. The key to success with this project is using silicon mug wraps. You can find them on Amazon for a fairly good price and it comes in three.

These wraps apply added pressure and fill the space so that your designs come out evenly and the way you want them.

Getting Your Design From Canva

  • Select “Custom Size.”

Steps To Create A Sublimiate Skinny Mug Using A Cricut Mug

subliminate tambler set up

Turn on the Cricut Mug Press and allow it to warm up. While the machine is doing that, use your lint roller to clean the tumbler.

Trim the printed sublimation design to fit the tumbler. Then wrap the design tightly around the tumbler using heat tape, starting from the middle and sealing down the sides.

Place the shrink-wrap sleeve around the tumbler and apply heat-resistant tape to secure the paper.

Slide a heat shrink sleeve over the tumbler and use a heat gun to shrink it around the paper. Add a silicone mug wrapped around the tumbler for pressure.

Place the wrapped tumbler into the Cricut Mug Press, ensuring that the edges of the sleeve face outwards.

Initiate the pressing cycle on the Cricut Mug Press, allowing it to run through the entire cycle. After the pressing cycle, flip the tumbler to ensure proper heating on both sides.

You should have a timer set to ensure proper heating on both sides. Finally, open the Cricut Mug Press, remove the tumbler, and take off any wraps or sleeves.
