How Often Do You Wash Your Stanley Cup?

The Stanley Cup is perfect for students, mothers, and anyone who enjoys their beverages hot or cold while on the move.

You might be curious about how often should you Stanley Cup. If you are only using it for water.

As someone with several Stanley Tumblers and a packed schedule, I completely get it! If you are too worn out to clean your Stanley Cup after a hectic day.

While I have written a previous post on how to wash your Stanley, I’d like to focus on the cleaning frequency. If your Stanley is used exclusively for water, a daily rinse and a thorough cleaning about once a week is best.

For persons who add other beverages like tea, coffee, or even soda, you should clean it daily to prevent any stains. And Yes, this includes the straw. However, if you can’t wash it daily, rinse it with water after each use.

You Should Wash Your Stanley Tumbler Once A Week If You Are Using It For Water Only

Just rinsing your water daily with hot water is usually all you need to ensure you’re not drinking water with bad bacteria.

It’s a good idea to give your Stanley a proper wash with warm soapy water by removing each part and cleaning the straw. But if you notice a weird smell, that’s your cue to wash your cup.

I have a separate Stanley Cup which I only drink water from. With this cup, I rinse it every time, add fresh ice and water, and hand wash it once a week with soapy water.

For Tea, Coffee, or Soda

If you are using your Stanley for drinks like tea, coffee, soda, or lemon water, wash it every day or after each use.

Not washing it can result in mold growth, stains inside the cup, and even a horrible smell or taste in your future drinks. The sooner you clean your Stanley Tumbler after using it for drinks other than water, the better.

Also, use a straw brush to wash away any fragments from your straw.

Denture tablets work wonders in making your bottle smell fresh again. Here’s how you do it: fill the bottle with warm water and drop it into a tablet.

Let it soak for 15 to 20 minutes, then give it a good hand wash. This will get rid of any tea stains and lingering smells. Just ensure to rinse it thoroughly, as the tablets typically have a minty taste.

Please do not leave your cup for too long without washing it, as the mold scent can take days to come out.

Should You Throw Your Stanley In The Dishwasher?

While your Stanley cup is dishwasher-friendly, it seems easy to do so. But I personally do not clean my Stanley in the dishwasher. I give it a soapy rinse and sometimes soak it in baking soda. But only when I drink tea, coffee, or Coke Light.

However, most people believe that dishwashing your Stanley can compraise the cup. I don’t wash my cup in the dishwasher, but if you do place it on the top rack only.

Also, the dishwasher will not get out of the mold that can accumulate under your cup. You need to clean this manually by removing the (rubber seal on the lid, rubber piece on the top, etc.
